UK Work Pay

Pro-rata holiday entitlement calculator

Estimate your holiday balance when leaving a job with regular working hours and a fixed working pattern in England, Scotland or Wales. Enter the dates for the leave year in which your employment ends.

Leave blank if you were already employed on the first day of the leave year. Use the date your employment ends, including any garden leave. Use the allowance for your working pattern. Include bank holidays if they count towards it.
Enter your dates and holiday figures to see an estimate.

How the estimate works

The calculator divides the calendar days you were employed in the leave year by the total calendar days in that year, including leap days, then applies that proportion to your annual allowance and subtracts the days taken. The estimate excludes carried-over leave and assumes your working pattern stayed the same.

How holiday appears on your final payslip

Your employer must pay for accrued, unused statutory holiday when your employment ends. Check your contract for extra contractual leave. If you took more leave than you accrued, your employer can deduct the difference from final pay only if you agreed to this in writing beforehand.

If you work irregular hours or only part of the year, use the GOV.UK holiday entitlement calculator and check the official leave rules. For a separate estimate of statutory redundancy pay, use the redundancy calculator.
